Get your shrubs in order - have a stake out!

As part of our philosophy of using every part of the tree, our range of garden and hedging stakes are sawn from the ′flitches′ or ′slab wood′ created at our sawmill in squaring up a round timber log.

Hedging stakes are used to temporarily bind newly laid hedges together. They are untreated and of variable section but uniform in length and pointed at one end.

Stakes for garden use are sawn from naturally durable oak or cedar and are useful for supporting trees or shrubs.

  • The timber is untreated and is durable for two or three seasons when made from oak or cedar: less if made from softwoods.
  • Hedging stakes are positioned every 18″ or so in newly laid hedges to secure the pleaches and the binders used in the Midland style of hedge-laying.
