Sharpening Steels and Oil

Sharpening Steels and Oil

Sheffield has long been renowned for its steel -so it makes sense to source a method of sharpening high quality steel tools from there too. The smaller steel is magnetised which means that the filings stick to the steel (and can be wiped away with a rag rather than remaining on the blade causing it to dull again quickly).

White mineral oil is invaluable for ensuring sharpened tools stay sharp and rust free for longer.

  • Mini sharpening tools do a good job in maintaining the sharpness of pocket knives and secateurs, while the larger steel is for shears and larger blades.
