The Sustrans Reclaimed Sleeper Seat

Sustrans Sleeper Seat

The Sustrans charity has ordered 70 of these seats which are to be located around the UK along their nationwide network of cycle routes.

These sleepers are made from Jarrah which is an Australian hardwood, initially brought back to this country as ships′ ballast before being used as railway sleepers. Really tough stuff and now ready for a third life in your garden!

It has been chosen by Sustrans for its recycled credentials and because the wood is so durable: once seasoned, normal hand-tools cannot work it.
