The Bothy has now reopened. We are open 10am – 4pm from Thursday to Sunday and on Bank Holiday Mondays.

Welcome to The Gardener’s Bothy – an independent craft workshop in the corner of the former walled garden on the Staunton Harold Estate, near Ashby-de-la-Zouch in Leicestershire.
The Gardener’s Bothy is the shop front for Cameron Forest and Garden Ltd, an established local forestry business working in and around the National Forest. The Bothy stocks our own range of garden furniture, woven willow products and timber from our own sawmill, as well as showcasing the talent of other local crafts-folk working in wood.

National Forest Grant Awarded for City and Guilds Diploma Level 3 in Basketry
We applied to the National Forest for a WEG grant to support Jam’s professional development and were successful in our application. The course at Westhope College, which was postponed for obvious reasons in October 2020, will now start this year in October. Expect to see the products of her labours at The Bothy.
Course dates 2021
Our 2021 course programme is up and running and filling up fast. The number of places will be limited to 5 participants, to allow for 2m social distancing - and also just in case the rule of 6 comes back. Some courses which demand more space than available at The Bothy will be run at our site near Coton in The Elms.
